1 Portrait Subject, 6 Photographers, 6 Very Different Results

“A photograph is shaped more by the person behind the camera than by what’s in front of it.”

Canon Australia recently decided to test this idea by inviting 6 photographers to photograph the same man in the same location.

The only difference was who they were told the man – Michael – was and the story he told.

One was told Michael was a psychic, another was told he was a recovering alcoholic, another was told he was a fisherman, another a life saver, another an ex-convict and another was told he was a millionaire.

Michael played the character and the photographers posed and photographed him. The results speak for themselves. Here they are.
