I'm trying to start a Photography Business, I have read on this site, you should have a Contract. Wow, I guess I'm really nieve. I'm trying to find people who want good Wedding Pictures. In this ecomony, with people being out of work and I have been blessed in my life, I thought "I don't need a Contract". We have a program called, "Bids For Bargains", you sell them something and in turn you get radio Advertising for the same amount of money you invested. I sold a "Wedding Package", the Bride and I have an agreement, no contract, yes it's in writing. Her Dad, as a great Dad he is, see's Dollar Signs $$$$$$$, he bids on the Wedding Package and gets it, half price. Yes, I guess I should had thought about this a head of time. Like I said, I'm new. But I can guarantee you one thing, the next time I do this, there will be an exception added on to the selling of Wedding Packages on Radio and I will have a Contract. I have two Nikon D 40's and love them. Yes, I need two, incase one breaks or my assitant can't make it. Go NIKON, Yea! Jacquie

Reading through this thread indicates that many have not read the competition rules, open to anyone in the world and spammers will be cut from the draw... to name but two.

I found this site interesting because I'm looking for a vehicle to design a series of projects for my partner, to help her to bring her hobby into sharp focus... to enable her in the future to use her natural photographic talents in the commercial arena - whilst also using photography to market "our" various other business aspirations.

An infrequent happy-snapper myself, I have captured moments of excellence like the luck in all of us, and produce some memorable perhaps even iconic images - but I have never, until now perhaps, considered taking photography on personally? An interesting competition for dPS to consider might target pure novices... taking them from an initial submission of their "snaps", to measuring their progress over say a six months competition period - with the winners being judged by a combination of subscriber votes and prize sponsors.

As a marketing strategist I can see significant value in such a competition: dPS would find a new wave of photography students; subscribers/contributors would enjoy interacting and playing a role in developing new talent; and not least, prize sponsors would capture an opportunity to indoctrinate lifelong customers for their products.

What do you think of my idea?

I'm not looking for a reward, but if you want to make an exception... a Nikon D60 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S DX VR Lens would put a smile on my face, and ya never know I might get lucky and take some more iconic shots!

Merry Christmas to one and all.

I found this in google, while looking up the Nikon D60 DSL.
I have joined the forum, which has great stuff on it anyway (I may never get anything else in my life done, trying to see and read everything on it!)
But, looking over this blog, I don't see anything with a date (year) on it.
It says the contest is on (posting on the forum) till April, but was that las April 2008 or the coming one 2009?
I don't see any dates, but one post says it's April 30 when the person is writing.
Thanks...
