Win a Lenovo W700ds Mobile Workstation by Subscribing to Our Weekly Newsletter

lenovo-thinkpad-w700ds.jpg
I’m very excited to announce that one DPS reader is about to get a new Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds mobile workstation!

Regular readers will know that I reviewed the Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds a month back (I was pretty impressed with the notebook). Normally when we do reviews on products we get to use them for a couple of weeks before sending them back. This time things went a little differently….

Lenovo said I could give the W700ds away to one of my readers!

First – let me say a massive thank you to Lenovo. This is no cheap giveaway – the W700ds range starts with a Recommended Retail price of $2869 – so thanks to Lenovo.

How to Win

I’m going to keep this very simple. You only have to do one thing to put yourself in the running to with this great mobile workstation – you need to subscribe to our weekly newsletter.

On Thursday 9 July at 7pm (Melbourne Australia time) I’m going to randomly choose one verified subscriber to our newsletter to receive the laptop. That gives you just over two weeks to get your subscription in. You can subscribe by adding your email address here and hitting ‘subscribe’:

If you don’t see the subscribe form above it could be that you’re running ad blocking plugins that not only block ads but these types of forms. If you turn your ad blocker off for a minute and reload the page you’ll hopefully see it :-)

NOTE: Once you’ve done that – watch your email inbox because you’ll be sent an email asking you to confirm your subscription – this ‘verifies’ you as a subscriber and puts you in the running to win.

Once you’re subscribed you’ll begin receiving a weekly email from DPS which will update you on all of our latest posts, new assignments in our forum and other DPS news. These get sent out weekly on a Thursday.

We keep your email address private and don’t use it for any other purpose but to send you newsletters. You can unsubscribe at any point (just not before the 9 Jul or you’ll be out of the running to win the laptop).

As a testimonial for the newsletters let me just say that on the occasional weeks that I don’t send them (when I’m on vacation) I get a heap of emails from subscribers asking where it is!

If you’d like to check out what these newsletters are like – here’s our latest one to give you a taste.

UPDATE: if you’re already subscribed to the newsletter – you’re eligible to win the Lenovo already – there’s no need to resubscribe. If you don’t know if you’re subscribed simply add your email address and the process won’t let you go further if you’ve already subscribed.

Also – please note that the computer has been used by me to do the review linked to above – it’s new but not brand new. It also has US power plugs, but can be used elsewhere by buying a travel power adapter. I’m happy to have it shipped anywhere in the world so all are welcome to participate.

What if you had subscribed before?

  • http://www.gtvone.com Sime

@Tommy – I dare say Darren is now fast asleep, but let me try answer. I’d suggest that Darren will be choosing from all verified subscribers So, to be in the running you need to be a “newsletter subscriber”

    I hope that makes sense?

If you’re a current subscriber -= you will be automatically in the running to win the awesomly awesome Lenovo*

Darren, Am I even half right?

Sime – dPS Community Manager and all round good bloke :-)

  • Travis

Yea, I am already subscribed but I DEFINITELY want to be in the running for this beauty! Hopefully we are all eligible.

  • http://www.ecuadormeyers.com David Meyer

I’m looking for the form to subscribe to the weekly newsletter, but I don’t see the link on this post. Maybe the hyperlink got left out?
Help please. I’d like a chance at that Lenovo. :-)

  • Tommy

    Sounds great =)

  • Peter

The “subscribe to DPS” page has isn’t showing the form for the weekly newsletter subscription. I’m running firefox 3 on winXP and I’m not having any other issues with the site, just the wierdly missing form.

I’ve just checked using chrome and opera and the form shows up using those browsers, so over to you.

  • laicos

If it’s possible,Can you guys mention how many people have subscribed till now? So that we can figure out, what are our realistic changes of being the lucky one.

  • http://www.adiulici.com/ Adi Ulici

@Iaicos, I don’t think the changes are too big, but I think you have nothing to lose :) I’m subscribed too their RSS for a while, but I said it’s not too much to subscribe to their newsletter too :D

  • http://www.prachtig.org Hans

By not subscribing, your chances are none.
By subscribing, your chances are substantially higher.
That should be enough statistics, right?
It’s not like you have to buy a ticket. ;-)

  • kim

For peter & david above, who couldn’t find the subscribe link in firefox… i’m running firefox. I didn’t see a link in the text, but there is one up at the top of the page, in the right-hand corner — and it works in firefox.

Wow. This is one nice machine. Good of them to give it away. Good of you to give it to one of us. Would be nice if I got it, though. Hahaha,

  • Tami

Wow, what an awesome opportunity. Would be a nice belated anniversary (July 10) present, LOL, so I can get rid of the $#%^& laptop I have. Awesome sight, appreciate the style.

  • John

Had been enlisted for the google reader RSS for quite a while now, this website taught me 90% of what i know about photography, but there’s no need for me to praise it: the fact that Lenovo offered this deal is proof enough that DPS is among the top photography sites!!

Great job, Darren, i’m honored to be a part of this community!

BTW: i’m not expecting to win, with my luck, if there were only three other participants, and i’d still lose.. (insert bitter smiling smiley here)..

No reason to wish anybody luck, somebody’s gonna win it anyway.. i just hope a poor bastard (like myself) will be the lucky winner (no offense to those who can afford, even with some effort, a laptop of ANY kind)..

Keep up the great work, DPS staff!!
    John

This announcement is really awesome as I was searching through lenova’s thinkpad models recently for my daughter who will be starting medical school on August 1st! We ‘customized’ the model and saved it on the site to go back to it some day… haven’t done that yet as they are darn expensive! If we win this, it’ll hugely help us with the upcoming expenses!

  • http://www.flickr.com/photos/abhijith_rao/ Abhi
