Weekly Assignment

Basil and Tomato (by KodiakStar)It leaves us sad to know that the Leaves assignment is over. But we were very happy with some of the lovely pictures that came out of it. Our winner this week was KodiakStar’s Leaves You Can Eat. The vibrant, primary colours along with the different look at the subject made it really stand out. duna’s Leaves in Water was our first runner up because it was sharp where it needed to be and smooth everywhere else, really making the autumn leaves stand out. And last, but not least, our final runner up was gabrielh’s Autumn Leaves for how nice and vivid the golden leaves were. Great job everyone!

Stranded (by duna12)This week’s assignment is Headshots. So the pictures this week need to be only from the neck up, making the face the feature of this shot. The picture can be of yourself or someone else, but make sure that the face is the subject. In order to be eligible for the mini-contest, your photo needs to have been taken between 15 – 29 October 2008, it must include “Assignment: Headshot” somewhere in the post, and the exif must be intact (it’s also useful if you include the main points like shutter speed, ISO, aperture, lens, and date taken in your post).

Autumn Tree (by Gabriel Hollander)Next week’s assignment will be slightly different since there is a sponsor for the contest. The assignment will run for 2 weeks instead of one, and the winner will be chosen by thinkTank, the contest’s sponsor. The assignment is “What’s in Your Bag” and the winner will win a thinkTank Rotation 360. Good luck!
