Photoshop Content-Aware Fill [Video Tutorial]
In this tutorial Phil Steele from Photoshop Basics for Photographers shares a great little tutorial on a feature called ‘Content Aware Fill’ that is in recent versions of Photoshop CS and Photoshop Elements.

It’s still better to do a thorough job with the clone brush or healing brush or, if that doesn’t work, combine them all and use them to their strengths.
Content aware fill, when used incorrectly, has a tendency to create visible patterns and repetitions when moving or removing objects.
Photoshop doesn’t see or realise that there is a repeating pattern where, so from that thought, good cloning or removing should be done manually with the tools I mentioned above.
Content Aware Fill is no doubt an impressive tool when used correctly and in the right situations and in many situations it’s better to use a different method, but if there is no other method, CAF is there to save you.

thanks for the video! I can’t believe I hadn’t discovered this tool before. It’s made fixing a few pictures a million times easier!!
