Pushing RAW is a great suggestion. White point and file compression are wasting our camera's processor time. As we all start to use RAW camera makers can re-purpose the processor to solving noise and pixel articulation. Nikon's D3X is rumored to be a full ISO stop improved.

Everyone needs to be shooting RAW. So... buy those 16 gig cards on ebay!

The number of brilliant photographers out of Iceland is starting to make my head hurt.

I'm becoming convinced that it's our Mecca and we just haven't been passed the memo yet :P Must be all that light.

@Hitesh: You're right, composition is one of the bigger factors in making an eye pop. But in the end, they all work together to create that effect.

You may have an amazing composition, but if the shot is underexposed with an improper white balance and poor contrast, it won't be as impressive.

I still thinking making an image pop was more to do with composition than with photoshop.

Fantastic work on that photoblog. The pictures are true paintings done with light.
A for the tips, I couldn't agree more, specially with #2. On an age that more and more photographers can produce quality work due to to digital revolution, making your photos "pop" is an essential skill to master.
