Back in the dark ages I had a Pentex auto 110. It was incredibly small and had a number of interchangeable lenses, filters etc. It was set up like an SLR but was 110 film cartridge. I adored it, I had wide angle, micro, etc and the whole kit would fit in my purse. You couldn't blow the prints up to poster size but had excellent quality for photo albums. I was in the military and carried it all over Europe including in “no photography” areas as it was so small. It disappeared somewhere during a move and I have been waiting for its equal ever since!

I have the camera. It is sharp, easy to navigate through, and like the Contax G1 and G2 series from 9 or 10 years ago. Nice weight to it. The only drawback, but that's fine, you have to use it like a point and shoot camera, but if you put the strap on it, and you sling that around your neck, and hold the camera straight out in front of you to focus, it provides terrific stability. Mind you, there is built in anti-shake capability. But I was shooting pictures at twilight at an 1/8th of a second 5.6 and they were pretty sharp, and that was at 1,000 ISO. I love the camera. And once the adaptor is available, I can use my other Olympus lenses. My criticism of Olympus is they are slow to getting their products out. I would love the 17 mm lens but it is still not available.

I'm just excited about the fact that I don't need to buy a whole new set of lenses! With the adapter, I'd be happy just to see how my 50m F2.0 and 25mm F1.4 are going to perform on it!

At last - may there be an affordable pocket rangefinder coming soon from Oly that will replace my beloved 35 RC. Don't need a removable lens - just that 17mm/2.8 and we are good to go!

Looks like a possible LX3 killer.
I'll wait first for an equivalent 50mm f/1.4-1.8 lens to see how big that setup is though.

As an Oly E510 user, this looks sweet as all my lenses will work on this body. It also has better image quality and dynamic range than my E510. I previously had a Canon S3 which was compact enough to take everywhere, but the E510 has limited the use based on size. This would provide the small size when needed, and the ability to use my macro or 70-300 zoom (600mm equivalent with the Oly 2x multiplier on there sensor/optics).

If I'm going to drop $600 on a new E620 body and still have the size issues, then $750 is not that much more painful with added functionality. Besides, prices always fall and soon, because the must come out with the E-P2 in less than 12 months. In the two years I've had the E510, they came out with the E520 and E620, so patients can be a virtue.

Really nice concept! I'm sure the price will go down very soon. So, waiting a while could safe money.

No optical viewfinder, a 2.8 lens, and $750? Hmmm.

This does NOT look like the "decisive moment digital" we've all been looking for. However, the proof will be in the pictures and performance. I guess we just have to wait and see.

Cheers to Olympus for taking a chance on a camera like this though.

ok.. i just read the review on dpreview.com and according to that this is an E30 without a viewfinder and flash so i guess the price is then justified.. i bet tey'll come out with a lower spec cheaper model in the future..
