Well, I was very excited about this software, but ended up being very disappointed. Everything Focx says above is true, and worse, there’s no response from the company about when/how help might become available. Quite frankly, I’m not sure how the reviewer for this article got anywhere with the program. $80 down the tube. Not worth it.

My wife bought me Pixelmator and I love it.. It’s not PhotoShop but does offer a wide variety of filters and tools for the price ($40). I love it.. For someone who only uses the editor a few times a month, it’s perfect..!

Focx: did you consider Pixelmator?
I, for one, think it does exactly that: better than Gimp, under 100$

Well, I think that pixelmator does a better job for cheaper. Even the UI is more attractive. Take a look a their website. http://www.pixelmator.com

This application is not usable. No help. No tooltips. Problems with updating the screen. Hangs. Slow (one a unibody MBP). And I’m still for an app better than GIMP and below 100$.

Finally! An intermediate between online “freebies” and full-on Photoshop! My skill level ranks somewhere below a benobo ape where photo editing is concerned, and as a Macbook user, I felt limited by space and expense in my quest to improve. This is the perfect software for my skill level. Thanks for the review!

The Auto Levels function is still in Photoshop CS4. It's the auto button in the Levels adjustment panel. The same automatic correction can be done via Auto Tone command in the Image menu.
