Did you know, that n amateur baseball, both wooden and metal alloy bats are generally permitted. Recently there have been increasing numbers of "wooden bat leagues" and the trend back to wood seems to be accelerating due to safety concerns regarding the speed of a batted ball hit directly toward the pitcher's head.

Easton has developed several technologies they claim improve bat performance that include "CNT" (carbon nanotube technology), "Connexion" technology ("most efficient energy transfer from handle to barrel" and most recently the IMX technology ("Integrated Matrix Technology").

I like my new 2009 DeMarini Doublewall Pitch White CF3 composite baseball bat is designed like the original DXCFB but includes a carbon material that is 22% stronger than competitors' composite materials.

Great post, think it will help me out a lot with some of the issues I have been struggling with. Slightly off topic, but I hope this is the last pic I ever see of Carlos Silva in an M's uni (not holding my breath, however).

As a non photographer (but baseball fan) I enjoyed the article.

However, what you called a squeeze play is actually a rundown. A squeeze is when a runner on third breaks to the plate early and the batter attempts to lay down a bunt.

Terry,
I have great luck with the 70-200. I was thinking of the 1.4 extender.....Add the Canon 30D sensor crop, might hold me for a while before resorting to buying a 400mm 2.8. One could rent it as well :)

Some Examples of the 70-200:

Wish I could afford the 400mm f2.8 too!
Instead, I have used the 70-200mm f2.8 with the 2X teleconverter with good success.
