I have to create a card this year and have been asked to add a touch of frost to the photo. I have had a bit of a go and posted a tutorial of how I have got on so far at
Adding Winter with Photoshop | TotalApps now, if anyone had any further tips on improving this I would appreciate any tips, the card has to be as realistic as possible and although I am happy with the look I have had one or two negative comments ![]() David |

I just followed your step by step guide and it really helped me a lot, ive been struggling with photoshop and had very nearly giving up using it all together.
Thanks for putting the time in to do this, I really like the effect of your pic and dont agree with the comments left. Thankyou, look forward to reading more.

The contrast is way too much, and you're blowing all the details.

Hmmm, I guess most of these might look like winter to someone that hasn't seen snow before. So far, Batgirl44's pic above looks the closest to what a light snow cover might look like. In fact, if presented alone, I would probably believe it was a photo of snow; just a rather overly contrasty one. I'm afraid the others just look to me like various types of B&W conversions.
