Not bad for your first try... the shots have good potential, don't give up!

Cheers

As I mentioned in the other post, we were all told we could watch from the one location and they kept trying to move us back even further (the year before last a driver stacked and hit a few people in the crowd, I believe one of them died). So I really wasn't in a position I was happy with to begin with. I was hoping to be a lot closer so I could get more background blur and not have to shoot at 200mm with a kit lens the entire time

There's another one coming in April in a different part of the state, I'll try to get to that and get set up in a better location. I also know a guy in the drift scene down here so I might be able to wrangle a pit pass sometime and have some fun

Did you see the post I made in the lounge about the "Best motorsports guide ever"?

A really good read.

Default Lots of help!

Thanks, Eric;

As a car enthusiast, as well as amateur photographer, I appreciate both sides of your tutorial! I'm lining up a gig for a buddy that runs a paint booth and really appreciate your insight to shooting autos. I've made a check list of things to remember - especially the rims-vs-tires note and the idea of a small ladder - and will employ them to the best of my ability.

I really enjoy all your posts. You have a cunning way with words that engage your readers! This one, especially, has made my day!

Thanks again;
