Question Technique for this?

Hi all, I have been looking and looking online searching for tutorials and/or software that allows me to do photo retouching and enhancements, I love love the before/after in this lady's webpage at:

http://norris-photography.com/enhancements/index.html

I clicked on the link in her webpage to contact her and it is a dead link. Please go there and review the affects she offers her customers and please share with me any software or tutorials, actions, etc that allows me to do this for my customers.

Thanks for any info. I use Photoshop CS2.

I wonder if she uses a software like Portait Professional? I have been to their site and it sounds like a good deal at $69 for it, but would love to hear all of your opinions on this software before I buy?

I actually would love to learn hands on technique, step-by-step tutorial so I learn the original way to do it too. Thanks for any help.

I too would be interested. I have just started using Photoshop CS3 but have not learned alot. I know there are different filters you can set for soft light, hard light, etc. but I have not been able to get the same effects. If you figure it out, let me know. Sorry I couldn't help but I am glad you found the site, I could click on her website and it would work but her email did not. Not sure about that. Thanks for asking the questions I look forward to seeing others response. I found this link on 60 photo shop techniques. It looks like it has pre-made tools to use that you can download for free. I haven't tried them to see if they work but I thought I would share it with you incase others new what it was and if it worked. I'll look into it more and let you know. Good Luck!

The link is badly formed, but you can copy and paste the email address into your email program and contact her that way.

Default Manual Touch-ups

For a lot of that, especially with CS2, you shouldn't have any problem doing those effects. The glowy effect, for example, can be achieved quite simply. Open your picture in PS CS2. Duplicate the layer. Gaussian blur (I usually blur by 5, but you can experiment with it), then set the layer to screen.

You can use a large soft brush with the clone and smudge tools to smooth out blemishes.

You can use the pen tool, draw a selection around the hair and the eyes, then up the levels and colors in the picture, or you can tint the eyes by selecting a color from the eye and painting over it on a new layer, then putting the layer on overlay.

The soft effect can be created by duplicating the layer, Gaussian blur, overlay the layer.

Washed is slightly desaturated.

Bold can be done by duplicating, gaussian blur, hard light/grain merge, lower opacity slightly.
