When I inverse the selection I lassoed the portion of the picture I don't want blurred becomes blurred. I have tried not inverting but then the whole picture blurs. I am at a lost, Appreciate any help you can provide I am using PS CS4

Thanks for the tip.

I tried to follow your instructions with my P&S but it woudn't zoom for me. Then I came out with "my" list. I have no pictures to show but I surely enjoyed myself.

So, is there any way (besides postprocessing) you can do this with my canon P&S (see below) ?
What is P&S? and by exposure of .05s is that the shutter speed?
