Im not quite sure what i did in post because my eye isn't that colour and i definitely didn't do it in photoshop itself, somethink in the raw converter but i can't think what....

I do remember lightening and desaturating the oranges (skin) to get that white colour and i did bump up the saturation on the iris but i dont't know how....lol!

Thanks to everyone who has commented

Ps. I have just got some cheap ebay extension tubes and my uncle has given me a old (very old) 28-200 tamaron lens, WITH and aperture ring so keep and eye out on my flickr photostream for some really cool up close ups of my eye!

Thanks for sharing.

I was trying some eye pics (not even self). But i couldnt get it right! I had many problem with light and also reflection on iris. What light setup did you use? Natural lights? Your eyes were facing the light source? I would really appreciate some info!

Thx again.

For the above shot i used a 1.5x2 meter soft box with continous natural light, also know as a window with the sun coming in...

But for this shot
8/52 Fire in my eye!
I used this home-made pop up flash diffuser (they call it a ring flash but it's not) http://www.adidap.com/2007/12/20/diy...man-ring-flash
I would really recommend it, the only thing is that you do get some odd specular highlights, i used the patch tool to get rid of them.

Hope all this helps

Interesting technique.

I read a tutorial for the ideas / advice - generally I wouldn't comment on it, so I wouldn't take it personally.

I signed up to reply to this thread. Just letting you know, I for one get notifications on twitter for things like this and so we're linked to your review, but we don't have a forum account. A lot of people may be in the same boat, which is why you could be getting a lot of views but nothing else. We were linked to come here, we didn't find it ourselves

Nice tutorial, I may try it sometime.
