I am a complete beginner and was finding it difficult to find something in plain english that takes me through things step by step.
Hopefully now when I read a thread I am interested in I won't be completely over whelmed by all the jargon speak that then ensues.

I also do not own a DSLR, I have a camera in between compact and SLR as I wanted to see what I could do prior to such a large outlay. Is there a section that helps the likes of us who have limited manual settings to get the best we can out of our camera?

I have been looking but think I am now chasing my own tail.

I am using a fujifilm S8000fd.
