I meter my shot exactly the way I always do. I then change the shutter speed. I do not change the aperature because if you do that, it will change your depth of field and your images will not look the same. I usually go 2 stops up and 2 stops back, then depending on the amount of light I am working with I'll take another shot or two to over compensate for the light. i.e. if it is a bright shot, I'll get an extra shot stopped down another 2 stops.

I've got a Nikon D3 and would like to break from shooting in JPEG all the time. Is there a thread for how to start shooting in raw, and what the benefits are? Thanks.

You now have isolated object on black background. Tidy up 1. Image> adjustments> Auto levels 2. Ctrl+J 3. Image> adjustments > Equalize 3. Blend mode-Soft light- (adjust opacity slider to suit) 4. Flatten Colour Boost 1. Ctrl+J 2. Image> Adjustments> Match Color 3. Luminance 119 4. Color intensity 126 5. Flatten/Save |
