Like this:

a.) need to put the Computer into NUMLOCK mode and then

b.) hold down ALT and

c.) type 0169, but you have to type 0169 NOT on the regular numeric keys along the top row, but the

d.) letter keys specially marked with teeny numbers that correspond to the numbers in NUMLOCK mode.

e.) After typing all that remember to take the Computer out of NUMLOCK mode or all your other typing will be messed up!

At least DoF is easy enough. Get them to pick up a pencil, put it a foot from their face and look at it. Then point out that the background is blurry. That's a shallow DoF! Then get them to look at something far away and see that everything's in focus. Wide DoF!

Default Second the Request on High Key

I see there's already a request for a tutorial on getting high key effect in post-production; I hope we could have one that would include getting "in camera" -- perhaps the same tutorial, with these two aspects covered?

I'm interested in lenses, too. But, my problem is I don't understand everything about them. I don't understand the ring that shows "feet" and "infinity." I've been reading "Understanding Exposure" and it says, "Your focal length will determine which distance you choose." I'm working on trying to get everything in my photo to be in focus.
