Richard I got myself a grey card and have been trialling it in my bush garden. I'm amazed at the difference it makes especially when using the auto WB. Here are the comparisons, excuse the "ring in" bird and his false eye, if you've been following my "Back in March" thread you'll know why
![]() Auto WB- ![]() Grey Card WB- ![]() My next question is- On the back of my grey "card" is a white "card" and I've read bits & pieces mentioning that this can be used to set your exposure. Maybe I'm thick but I just can't seem to see how this would be done, I tried a bit but gave up in the end. Would you mind explaining it or pointing me in the right direction, thanks!

Glad to see you are getting good results.
======== I am not aware of using a white card for getting the exposure right (it seems to me the wrong way to go, unless you dial in some + exposure compensation or shooting manually). You can do that also with a grey card (as well as white balance). Could you point me off to where you have seen it.

Umm.....I'll have to do some searching now. I know it was mentioned on the website that I bought the grey card from, and I'm sure I've read it on here somewhere.
............. ............. And in fact I got one part wrong. This is what the website says about the grey/white card To calibrate your camera accurately you need a perfectly white card to set your white balance and a grey card to set your exposure. Hmmmm.....now I am confused, I used the grey card to set my WB *bangs her head in frustration* Maybe I need to re-read your tutorial
