Default Night Photography 101

Just finished a fairly massive article on Night Photography, from gear, techniques and post-processing pano and stacked star trial images:

Wow! That is an extremely detailed tutorial. First rate! I can't wait to try some of those techniques.

After reading through much of the setup I have a question. Maybe I overlooked this but didn't see it.

Are you using mirror lockup when in bulb mode?

Thanks for that, and you are right, I haven't mentioned MLU anywhere in the article. For single exposures, particularly the shorter ones where we are using the moon for illumination, I would use MLU as a matter of course. With the automated stacking star trails shots, I don't use MLU, I would have to test to see how that gets affected my the auto timer, but I suspect it would go goofy...

I'll check that today and amend the article accordingly.
