Ok, the third week of my Project 52 down. This week, I chose the song Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd. I immediately thought of a bird soaring in flight when I chose this song.
So after a week of blurry shots, empty frames, tiny specs that resemble birds, etc., I was about down to the wire. So on Saturday, my last day to get a good shot, my mom told me to go out and close the our garage door because our was headed that way with a bird... So of course, I grabbed the camera, closed the door, and went looking for my cat and his prey. I found him at the base of a tree in our front yard with feathers stuck to his mouth. Up in the tree was the bird that got away. I got some shots before the bird flew to another tree and my cat followed. So, while it wasn't what I was thinking of, I think the story behind the picture makes it a perfect picture for the song. ![]() By the way, after climbing a smaller tree to get at the bird, and it flying away again, my cat finally did give up and bird got away shaken, but unharmed.
