Default Looking for your....

HOME REMEDIES....You must remember when you were a kid, every parent had some home remedy that makes no sense....Well this is one. My mom's doctor told her to use Vicks vapor rub or severe itching. (Fibro causes that such itching) We have talked this over and over and want to know how was this discovered....So, we both have toothbrushes and Vicks by our bedstand.

I would love for all you to post your own home remedy....you never know it maybe useful for someone else....

Well, nice photo, but I take home remedies with a grain of salt; salt, of course, will cure anything!

Upon giving my high school students the usual warning about not staring directly at the Sun, one of them told me that she had an uncle who "made his eyes cloudy" by staring at the Sun to get the demons off his back! The grandmother had instructed him to do so.

My mom never had any special remedies , but my grandmother sure did . Always made some sort of concoction with honey and some sort of liquor . Sure helped us sleep when we were sick

Someone told me rubbing that on your feet will cure a cough...don't find that it works for me or my little ones...does make your feet feel toasty though. I stick with chicken soup, lots of liquids, no dairy, at least 4 pillows and Zicam. A hot toddy never hurt either...

P.S. Rinse with salt water or mouthwash for canker sores. That's all I can think of.

What a funny coincidence. I was standing at a pharmacy this past week and saw a shelf of humidifiers. Remember, I'm old so humidifiers didn't exist when I was a kid but pans of steaming water did...along with Vicks. When I saw the display, I could practically smell of Vicks walfting up from memory. But we also had to rub it on our chest and then wrap our neck the scratchiest, most irritating wrap of wool cloth we could find. Your remedy is to help with an itch, my memories brings it all back! Nice Still LIfe, ahem!

I still rub vicks on my kiddos chest when he does not feel well. They even make a liquid one to put in the humidfier...The tones in your pics are great!
