Default Cold Times

The sun was shining, and I thought I might be stuck at home all day, so I decided to see what I might find in the garden... as it happened small icicles that had formed on my guttering had grown somewhat in the past week...

Giant Icicle

Underneath the giant one on the left I found this formation of ice. I lay in the snow to take the photo and a gust of wind just happened to blow up some of the powdery snow - captured in the sunlight...

Ice Formation - 9/365

Eventually managed to get out, thanks to a friends 4x4, so headed to a nearby man-made lake to capture sunset. Got a few pictures in the 'golden hour'...

Goose Landing

ta,
Phil.

Very nice snow images! I really like the last one of the duck and gulls landing on and dealing with the ice.

Phil, what a wonderful set! They're all very well done, but I think my favorites are the second (so unusual!) and the fourth (just love those birds!) Thanks for sharing these with us.

This is a great set - I particularly like the perspective and the lighting in the second.
I have been hearing on the news about the cold weather you have been having, so I am glad you managed to get out and take some pics to share with us.

Number two is my favourite of the set too. As far as perspective - I paid for that with cold and wet jeans; I should have put my ski trousers on I think.

Thanks again for the kind words, much appreciated.

cheers,
Phil.
