Default SPs - Everyone's doing it!

Haven't posted a photo in a while, but I've been looking (and commenting ) a lot. Self portraits seem to be in favour at the moment, so while the second batch of Christmas puddings are having their 6-hour boil...

What I learned...
1. I'm an ugly cuss (actually I knew that )
2. In SPs the photog can't pull a funny face to make the subject smile!

Well hello Jim, nice to see you. I think your self portraits are great, hardest thing to do.
Is it dry where you are?

Well the second batch of puddings have finished their 6-hour steam bath!

Thanks Michelle. Yes, dry. Wide brown land etc.

Thanks Ty. Not so brave. I'm no oil painting, but small children don't always run away screaming.

Thanks Jim. Yes, that's the look I was after, the Startled Skippy!

For comparison purposes, three and a half decades ago and still with an SLR in hand. Not sure if it's the Minolta SRT101 or the Nikon FTN.

eta: Thanks Jennie, there are two sides to every story and at least two sides to every person.

Also, it must be the Nikon, I never had an L-Grip when I had the Minolta!

Sneaky bump so that people can see me the way I still think of me (it's such a shock to look in the mirror, that's why I don't shave!), and to confirm that that is my old Nikon FTN with the removable pentaprism and swap-able ground glass focussing inserts. It is wearing a Nikkor nifty fifty with a little flare hood. What a tube of glass that was. Technically, I still own that camera, but I left it in San Angelo, TX about a dozen years ago. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the ex-roomy with whom I left it had sold it or chucked it.

Jim, I had a pair of pants like that once. They are probably floating somewhere around the cosmos along with my polyester leisure suit! Don't want the clothes back, but I'd sure like to have the old face and body back. A great, fun post and good to see you!

Hello Jim, its very nice to meet you.
Another member falls on their sword and bares all in the name of art and photography
I love the extra picture, back in the late sixties I had a couple of pairs of hipsters and various body hugging shirts with assorted collars, all my shorts now are xxxl, with the trousers going the same way.
