Got Garlic?

I took this photo a few months ago ... for one of the challenges here. I started to play with it, though, to make it into something more. Here are the steps:
  1. Created a black background.
  2. Added a second box (also black) right above it. Added a 1 pixel white stroke around the box.
  3. Created nine little squares. Made them not visible.
  4. Loaded the photograph under the squares layer. Resized the photo.
  5. Control + clicked on the squares while having the photo layer active.
  6. Select > Inverse then delete
  7. Copied the photo layer and moved it under the first layer.
  8. Flipped the second photo and moved it below the first photo.
  9. Free transformed the bottom photo.
  10. Added a layer mask and then added a gradient to fade it away. Dropped the opacity.
  11. Added the text.

There is some very good photography here. My only other comment is that I think the black square lines are a bit too heavy. But that's just my opinion. I do like this though. Very well done

My PP skills are very much at the beginner level so I can't even imagine being able to do this kind of thing -- I'm very impressed, and appreciate your willingness to share what you've done. The garlic clove itself is lovely and your color choices really make it stand out. And I appreciate your humor!
