Default Eight second exposure

This is something I've wanted to try for ages now, ever since C Gaskin showed a picture like this.

The headlights are coming away from London and in the second shot you'll see nothing is going towards London - it was friday night I suppose!

Beautiful. Love the lines and negative space in the second one.

Nice trail of lights. Did you use rear curtain for that?

Thank you for your kind comments. Rachel, I too tried a longer exposure of 15 seconds and that just seemed too much ( I even had aeroplane trails across the sky!) Eight seconds seemed about right. DRs, it was just a straight shot, I didn't even use a tripod, I balanced the camera on the railing of the bridge!
