funny boy

This is my second set of portraits. This is of my son Christopher! He is such a funny boy. I am looking for some critiques on my portraits. So feel free to help me learn to take better shots.

I am using my DSLR rebel xs with the EF 50mm 1:1.8 II lens. I just found this lens in my husband's old rebel bag. I did not even know his lenses might work with my camera, which I am so thrilled to find out it works with my camera.

I converted from RAW after some adjustments, then opened it up in GIMP and made the eyes pop(tutorial).
