Vin, that is so cool! It actually DOES look like a painting...well done!

DPS would not be the same without you, and I for one am grateful for your friendship. Congrats on 2000, and I'm looking forward to the next few thousand from you!

It's been so much fun watching you grow as a photographer. You're never afraid to try something new and to keep learning. You know I always enjoy your beautiful work. You've also been so encouraging to me and many others. Your comments are always so well-thought out, truthful, and kind - which makes you an asset to this forum!

Hugs!

thank you Pauline, you give me a great compliment by letting me know I might inspire and pass on some of the things I've learned, it's really what makes the wheels of DPS keep rolling, it is after all just a community of like minded folks, so thank you very much.

I am thinking of getting one, but more for teaching reasons, although it would also be good for masking in post as well. Take care.
thanks you Plang, I really enjoy sharing some of what I've been doing, sometimes it's not what people would expect ( I don;t always share my best shots of the day ) I like pushing myself and challenges , it makes me get better, I'm glad you appreciate that type of approach.. I really like my tablet , I don;t use it for everything.. but just the pressure control on the healing or history brush makes a huge different in control ..

I bought a small bamboo, was around $120.00US .. and I think it was well worth the money, blocking and masking are also alot easier once you get used to it.

thank you Patrick my Good Buddy, yeah, I'm stimulated all right !! .. the pressure of getting a dozen or so really good photos from the wedding has forced me to finally address my lack of real editing and I know I have a long way to go before I get professional results, I'm gonna keep working on them until I'm happy.

next year ? I'll get some of the fall foilage I missed with all this inside computer work lol

Vin, it's my great pleasure to know you and count you as a friend. We've critiqued each others work enough to know we'll neither of us be totally satisfied, as we strive for continuing development and improvement and those even better results.
I also know you for all of the above, plus you are knowldgeable, capable, generous and supportive of others, your work as always beautifully crafted and presented and then freely given, congratulations on 2000 posts, well done mate
It feels like it was only yesterday when we arrived here. how could I EVER forget the old boats in the marsh shots... the wind generators the first time I saw them ... a simple seagull shot at such a perspective it left me thinking " whay the hell didn't I think of that ? ".. And then, the written word were added and thank goodness it's never competition or I could never keep up. You have pushed me to " think " and not just react with my lense and I OWE you more then I could ever repay for showing me the poetry of photography.

And your soooo humble about it all, " I just do my thing Vin , it's really nothing much at all " and you are so wrong, a few well chosen words attached to a well thought out simple and elegant image becomes so much more.. I LOVE what you do Bud, and I love our friendship and I appreciate all of it.

Dave.
Dave !! .. I had to wait a few weeks to post anything while you recovered, I didn;t want you to miss my 2000th lol !! yep, we were all DPS rookies back then, and I have fond memories of our early contributions. Man have we grown, eye's wide open now.. searching for that unseen shot. I will never forget the Fern growing out of the red brick wall ... it had a profound effect on how I look for shots now.

And I also remember your advice when I was stressing over ( oh I can;t even remember what it was ) .. " Vin, just relax, take your time, there's no rush and you'll get it " Steve has taught me to " think " and you have taught me to remember why I love photography, because it feeds the need to create and I have to create.

When you've regained some strenght and feeling better, the rest of DPS who aren't aware of just how good you are at it, will learn why I call you the " Florist " because although Jake can shoot anything.. very few can match his flower images on a consistent basis.

I almost lost my mate and my eyes water just typing this, I am SOOO happy your gonna be ok and will soon be back behind the lense, I still have more to learn about floral shooting !!

thank you Preach, the best compliment I can get is that someone learned something or was inspired to try something I've shared. You pay me a great honor by your kinds words. Now I could be totally wrong, but next spring when my beloved Osprey return , your gonna see me get HOT, because there is nothing I love more then sit on my little camping chair with my long lense on the camera and my ipod playing music while I watch my favorite subjects ... so wait till spring and Vin's gonna heat up !

So Vin, celebrate that number, count them, and cherish each and every one for the richness it adds, and ignore the naysayers....I personally, look forward to being a small part of your next 2,000!
thank you Mike.. your corect, it's just a number and I don't put too much value on a milestone of the number of posts... but we always do something special for them so I felt compelled. I've had the pleasure of walking the path with you, watching you grow and improve and try new things and I really enjoy our friendship, We are quite similar in our approach to reaching and enhancing our images, I really enjoy the poems you write and your nikki sue posts, you keep it light and fun and are always humble. I happen to think you have an outstnading eye for forming shots, but I know you will never find the " one " shot, because we are alike in many ways, so we keep searching anyway !

And we share our results regardless of the fact it might not be the best shot taken that day, but it's most interesting and better to share will fellow photogs then what might feed our ego for a few hours. I have alot of respect for you and the courage you show in some of your posts and for a buncha old farts we can light it up Bud !

Susan, my little sister, the one who had the guts to just go for it and do what alot of us think about " maybe I could go pro someday " .. We've both took different trails on the path, I looked for nature and you searched for natural lit portraits and now we're walking again together , up a few levels from when we started.

I don;t have to ramble about our bond we've formed, the mutual respect we share, you've taught me, I've taught you .. it's awesome to think where we started and where we are headed. Thanks so much for everything

/Big Bear Hug !

thanks everyone, it really means alot to read such warm and thoughtful comments, it fills the tank

Vin
