Default the post-proc grind

I got my song list playing in the background and I've been hard at work processing the wedding shots.. got a another one to share.

This one is important to me to do right.. I shared another version in my last post and my photoshop skills and currently under construction, so I'm doing a bit of trail and error ..

so here's a result of radical edit and quite a bit of work, Halos and the fuzzies are the bane of a clean look and I don't want it to look like a hack job.

BridesMomDad

I like it better then the first which was really bothering me alot. though her silver hair has better contrast in the original, I got tired and my hand hurts from using the mouse , so I'm letting it go for now.

thanks for taking a look, let me know if ya like the look or it looks amateurish, I can't tell anymore and am moving on the next photo lol

Well done!

I didn't read your previous post, did you mention what program you used?

Well I like both shots. To much pp hurts a photo I think. But then the blinds in the bg of the second pic are distracting. And if your hands get tired from using the mouse you should look in to getting a Wacom tablet.

oh yearh..wacom tablet.. i own one myself.. it's my best friend! you have much better control over the brush and such things in photoshop ( or other image editing software) than with your mouse.. it's really worth the money

You've done a great job of isolating the dance partners Vinod.

Now you've gone to all that trouble, have you tried layering different backgrounds - perhaps from the event itself - and applying a good strong blur filter to it?

Hi Vin! Well I think your 1st one is well done, I'm not sure about the embossing on the background though. I've not done much as far as adding different backgrounds, but I know that CS4 is pretty versatile in allowing you to use masks and such.
The 2nd one is good, but busy.
Keep at it my Friend!
Thanks for sharing these
Michael.

From a technical standpoint, it's very well done. I think her hair and the blue background complement each other. Nice job, Vin.

thanks Dan .. I mostly use photoshop Elements for heavy work like blocking and replacing backgrounds, I use gimp for some stuff ( I like it's text options ) and I use flickr's Picnik when I just wanna do quick corrections- but only for online photos.. thanks for your comment.

Thanks Fred .. I've been pondering this shot for a few days now .. I'm just not feeling it yet.. I agree with you, they are both ok just not there yet. I'm going to have to save for a tablet, would make work flow much faster and I'm sure alot better control. thanks for your comment

thanks Cap .. that's a great suggestion for backgrounds.. I am just delving into more advanced editing and I'll have to take a look at what backgrounds I might use.. thanks very much !

Thanks Micheal.. I just have Elements ( I know I know.. but everything is so expensive now that I have to have better gear and stuff ) and I'm just starting to really learn replacing backgrounds.. I am going to keep working on it, you know how stubborn I am lol .. as always I really appreciate your comments

Jim
thanks much Jim .. alot of this is new to me ( Osprey in the wild come with thier own backgrounds ! ) .. so it's a bit of a learning curve, but I am determined to improve. Thanks for your feedback on the cutout of the couple, last night I was more concerned with having that look real, then the background and I'm glad you caught that effort. appreciate your help and encouragement.

thanks everyone, I gotta get back to work

Vin
