Default Daytime Owl

I took this shot downtown Niagara Falls (Ontario side). I thought it would be interesting. It wasn't until I saw it on my computer that I realized my framing was way off
I should have included the whole building... I'll remember next time, I hope

Maybe it's just me but I don't mind at all that the entire building isn't in the shot. My eye is drawn right to the owl. I think it's a great shot.

Interesting shot. Like Zannie said, it is the owl that takes the attention, not the building. However, you've got some rich colours in the background which is nice.

I have to agree with the others. The subject really draws the attention. And attractive title too.

Yes, I agree with the other guys, the owl is your focal point & your eye is nicely drawn to him. Love it! I love how the neutral color of the owl and foreground contrasts with the bright colors you've captured way back.

I agree - I wouldn't even have noticed the building if you hadn't mentioned it, and even then i don't think it's a problem. It's funny how we are are own worst critics. Great shot.

I think if you had included the whole building, the size of your owl would have been decreased, thus taking away from its emphasis. I like it as it is.

Thanks for the feedback everyone...

Martha36 sums it up "...funny how we are are own worst critics." I guess that's true.

I have several shots in my inventory, as I'm sure we all do, that we don't upload for that very reason Maybe there should be a section for photos "we don't think are worthy". Who knows what we'll see.

Once again, thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

The whole building would have been a nice touch, but I didn't even notice it. It's not that big a deal since the background is blurred anyway...all my concentration was on the owl. If the building was meant to be in focus, then the chop would have been a little more noticeable.

Nice shot just as it is, Dano!
