Default Place of rest...

These are the places we stayed in while visiting South Africa. They are all different types of huts that the Zulu's live in.

The lions found this to be a very cool spot to relax.

As you can tell, the guys in front of the hut are sitting....they make the doors only to your waist...this way it makes you bow before entering. A sign of respect. It also is a protection against intruders, the woman have to be on the inside of the door, so when the intruder enters, they are unprepared.

This is another type of Zulu hut called a Rondeval. It is mostly a clay.

This is the actual tent we stayed in while in the Lion Park. The first pic is their spot. YES, we left the door unzipped all night and listened to them roar and the hyennas laugh.
I didn't see the purpose of zipping the tent, I figured if they wanted to come in there was nothing going to hold them back.

Great set, Angella! I love the first one. It's almost b/w with selective coloring in the lion. Very nice shot. The second one is straight out of NatGeo! Well done!

Thank you so much. I have a bunch more like the 2nd pic....one of the girls was absolutely beautiful. On the morning we were getting ready to leave, she was out front wrapped in a blanket with another girl and guy. We stopped and asked if we could take their photo, they smiles and said sure. Before we knew it they had whipped off their blankets and had nothing on except for the beads. I felt so bad....it was drizzling that morning. We didn't expect them to get undressed, but the photo came out beautiful.

In their society, breast is nothing more than food for a baby. Their sexy part is the back of their thighs.

Angella these are brilliant. The second one is amazing with great composition and the information you have shared below has really given me an insight to how they live, thanks.

Thank you all. I will continue this thread tonight with more based on the 2nd pic.
We were there while they were having a meeting trying to get the government to bring in running water and electricity. I got shots of the SWAT guy, he didn't look happy about it. The meeting brought in all the officials and lasted all of 10 minutes. The leader said it could take months for a decision.
