Default towards the light

towards the light

birds in the tide

And no-one called us to the land, and no-one knows the wheres or whys
But something stirs and something tries, and starts to climb towards the light

Have you started that coffee table book yet? Because you really need to.

Appropriate prose for a nice shot.

This shot reminded me of something (I had to look it up):

"People's destinies are so different. Some people drag along, unnoticed and boring—they're all alike, and they're all unhappy. Then there are others, like for instance you—you're one in a million. You're happy—"

- Anton Chekhov, The Seagull

BTW, I know of a Flickr group that would like to have this image added to it. LOL.

Steve, I love the light on this one, that low in the sky light that plays on the froth of the waves and dances on the shore. The monotones on the gulls pick up on the monotones of the waves and give it great balance and transcends from a picture into art.

ha ha,
Deb, you are extremely generous and I thank you loads and loads

I liked this picture but this is me being very self indulgent with the gulls and the sea and having a great time because I'm back up and out driving again after being laid up for two months

cheers beachcomber

Most excellent as usual. The poetry is beautiful. Glad to hear you up and about again. I haven't been around here in a while but I am sure the community missed your shots like this.

I think a book by Beach or a book of beaches or whatever would be an awesome idea. Excuse the word play!

Beautiful shot-the birds look so vulnerable. I echo the great words from fstopmike.
