Default Wing Shots

Just a few wing shots to share.

This guy spotted me sneaking up on the group and took to the sky. The rest of the group started make lots of noise, maybe "hey where are you going?".

Shadow Egrets

Here is an Osprey with his wingman, a swallow. I don't understand their attraction, but they flew together for the hour or so I was around. Still too far away, but you get the idea anyway.

Very nice Fred. I like them both. I wish I could get some good birding shots... Gonna have to keep on trying.

How awesome! Beautiful captures. I like how in the first one, the flying guy is out in the light, but the others are in the shade. Glorious!

Great shots! And thanks for mentioning about the Osprey and Swallow flying together. Just when you think you've got animals figured out is when they do something totally out of character. Doesn't that bird know that Ospreys have no dealings with Swallows?

Those are beautiful shots. I love the surreal feel to the first one, and the composition of the second is stellar.

Thanks Fred, having long glass helps get shots, but for me wildlife is all I like to shoot and here I don't have many choices for wildlife. Lots of iguanas but even I've become bored shooting them.

Thanks SoxAddict, I was trying to get close then get a flying shot as they took off. It just worked out good that one spooked and left his buddies there in the deep shade.

Thanks Cye, the Osprey and Swallow were fun to watch. They shadowed each other turn for turn for a long time and were still flying around when I had to leave.

Thanks martha, the first is the light with deep shade and then one bird entering the sunlight creating a nice image.

great work bud ! .. love the wing details and shadows in the first.

Of course I'm gonna LOVE a well done Osprey !! ... great job getting both birds in frame !

I've noticed that gulls and small birds will follow them back from thier hunts, which I assumed was to grab scraps of fish they drop as they eat, but I've never actually witnessed it.

Nice to see the passing of the Osprey torch for the next few months is taken care of !
