Default tree snake

i was on pilgrimage to sabarimala, the famous ayyappa temple, in the middle of periyar tiger reserve,.the temple is on top of a hiil midist dense forest.while climbing noticed this snake at 6 feet level

what a horrific pose!!!!!! It makes mee feel that I am standing under the tree and looking at it... perfect capture Santhosh... By the way, what happened to this snake after this shot ? you people just left it there???

as you may be aware,sabarimala is a crowded place, on that day ther e was big crowd, and a lot of people around the snake, disturbing it with twigs etc, i feare d that at any moment the snake will loose its patience & will strike, as we were very busey & to catch the train, we left the place, after taking few shots

That looks like a Viper of some kind, is it poisonious? I'd be uncomfortable getting that close to one of these. Great Capture.
