Eee, what is it with the spiders already?!?

This one looks like a cross between a spider and a cactus! Nice capture Dave!

Nice spider Dave...looks like some sort of male orb weaver but it's not a UK species that I recognise. It looks a bit like a UK garden spider but without the patterns on the abdomen - maybe it's a US garden spider? (try under family Araneidae)

At this time of year he's probably out wandering looking for females.

Oh how I hate spiders...guess that's why my hubby is a bug man! But that thing looks like a wolf spider...does it hop? (Wolf spiders can be very aggressive and they can hop or jump.) Good shot though...hope you were far enough away from it!
