Default There's a bad moon on the rise

Taken a few weeks ago, as the moon was rising above the Absaroka Mountains near Livingston, MT.

Beautiful image!
Although I am not a real fan of strong vignette.
The picture maybanefit from a little softer finishing.

I think I agree with you guys on the vignette. I liked it at first, but now that I've been looking at this for a few weeks, I think it's way overdone and takes away from the picture. Here's the shot without.

Beautiful. I prefer the latter format with vignette to the first one.

The moon is so sharp and clear. Just beautiful.

Well, the fact is I really like both of these alot. The first does seem to suffer from a little too much post production. That is to say that the vignette kind of dominates and therefore detracts from the image. At the same time, I think if you reduced the vignette, you could still get a moody feel without detriment to the image. It looks like it could be one of those posters with the inspirational quote on them.

The second one looks like it could be from the pages of National Geographic or a National Park brochure. Crisp and clear... what more could you ask for?

Thanks for sharing.

Very cool shot, and an awesome song too. I agree with the others, the vignette in the original pics was a bit on the strong side.
