Default visit with the 4 ever present guardians of men

Lunch at a different place looking at different things........today, I swung through the Winchester Cemetery, namely to look at the statuary......There were not many.....really only four not counting the two with broken arms etc......the crippled did not make this post. These four ladies are the ever present guardians over the grounds here where mere mortals lie in repose. I wonder why all the statues are women? I guess it is the caring and nurturing ways of the woman that earns her this place among those who mourn.

I only asked them one question and one question alone......"How long have you been here?"

This guardian took a long hard thought and then nonchalantly replied " one hundred and seventy cycles of sun and snow"

This guardian appeared quite shy and did not say much....she gently raised her eyes and then quickly looked back down upon those under her care and said "It matters not how long I have been here, it only matters that I fulfill my duties"

I could scarce get my question out before the third guardian let out a sigh and wondered how many more years would go by before she was ever spoken to again

The fourth guardian could hardly conceal her frustration and boredom and with an exasperated display of tedium, she simply replied, "I can't believe that I even applied for this stupid job!"

I know that this different but I hope that you enjoyed it anyways.

Headline in the local paper;

There is clearly job security at the local cemetary, but when interviewed, some guardians voiced disharmony about working practices. Industrial action now seems inevitable, and a spokesperson described the situation as grave

Very innovative post Patrick, I enjoyed it

I guess you could almost say that these are not 'still lifes', but rather 'portraits' Loved the write-up that came with the pictures. Awesome!
