Default First attempts

Hi, my name is Mark. I purchased my first DSLR about 2 weeks ago. This is really my first attempt at "Photography" prior to that I've just been a point and shooter. I had an opportunity to get out and spend some time yesterday taking pics, here are a couple I liked. I really enjoy this site and have learned a lot in just a short time. Look forward to learning more with all of you.

I was able to get my lazy a$$ out of bed to get down to the lake to get a few attempts at an early morning sunrise. This one is my favorite

Lake Michigan Sunrise

This was my first attempt at slow shutter speed.

Petrifying Springs Kenosha WI

I was trying to shoot a water bug on this one, the water bug was turned out to be outof focus, but I like the way the shot turned out

Welcome to DPS Mark. Great captures here. I especially like the first photo. The colours in the sky are great, and I like how the lonely cloud shrouds the sun. Nicely done.

Thanks for all the compliments!! More soon hopefully. I'm supposed to be going to a car show this afternoon. We'll see what that brings!
