Sunbathing

I saw this little guy jumping around on my backyard fence. So I grabbed my camera. By the time I got outside he had sprawled on the overhang of the garage next door. So I grabbed this and a couple other shots before he decided to move on. This also was my submission to the backyard challenge. But I can tell you, I have quite a number of shots from my backyard. I regularly go out there to shoot.



This is a black & white conversion where I erased back in the color of the squirrel:



Used my Canon 200mm f/2.8L for the shot, set at f/8 and 1/100th second.

Good shot Rusty..I like both versions. BTW, I've never seen a black squirrel before, only brown and the grey ones.

Around here, the grey squirrels are black when they are babies. When they mature they turn grey. So this little guy is obviously a young-un. But you can see some grey creeping into his coat and tail.

And right now I'm looking at the shots on my laptop and what a difference from how they appear on my desktop monitor. My desktop monitor is calibrated with a Spyder unit. Guess I'll have to do the same with my laptop. It just plain looks ugly on the laptop.

I had never seen one until I went to Detroit last week where my wife is from(Grosse Point).

They are all over the place. They are also bigger and more fluffy than the squirrels down south.
