Default my very first

this is my very first photo with my canon 40d,in the past I have only had a point and shoot,
I know I have a lot to learn, and a long way to go to get better.(only had the camera 2 weeks, the lens 4days)
This photo was taken from a hide, and the Hen Harrier was well over a thousand yards away, the lens I had on was sigma 500mm.ok I was asking a lot from the lens, but you just gott'a have a go.

If I have made this photo to big I am sorry,so if a mod would like to make changes please do so,thank you...

Congrats on this photo and also on your 40D aquisition. A 500mm Sigma...sounds great. A bit of lens envy here :P

I've tried a few shots like this myself...not as easy as it looks. Well done.

Gorgeous! Aside from the haze from the distance I would say that's a nearly perfect shot. I'm having a bit of lens envy as well...
