Darn muse. This song, The Rose Above the Sky by Bruce Cockburn (see below) has been wafting through my brain recently--not sure why--especially since the tone of the song is much darker than I am feeling presently. However, arguments with my muse are futile though I did put up a fight about doing something this experimental. I can easily put photos in boxes, call it a collage and share it here with you all. This post is...well...questionable. (Taking a deep breath....)
This is the last stanza and chorus to this song. While the other stanzas have a heavy feel, I can recognize that part of my sharing these lines with you flows from a sense of gratitude for the richness of my experience here at DPS and my reflections of this past year. You can listen to the song here: Ozone on the midnight wind Got me thinking of the sea And the mercies of the currents that brought Me to you and you to me And in the silence at the heart of things Where all true meetings come to be This song was first released in 1976 in his album In the Falling Dark and later re-released in his Rumours of Glory album. I've known Bruce through records, cassettes, CD's and iPod. No single artist has my heart more than Bruce.
