Default From Days gone By

I snuck down to an old abandoned mine site earlier this week to get a few shots. I didn't stay as long as I wished I could have because I was very nervous having trespassed on to private property.

Here are a few shots of one of the trucks left behind.

Naughty Deb, trespassing just to get some great photographs. But I'm glad you did. These are excellent. Old trucks make great photos as you have shown. You got some great perspectives. I love them all Deb. Great work.

Dave.

Boy, the days have gone by for that truck...but you have brought it to life for a bit. Nice shots of it.

Wonderful images of an abandoned work hourse. Sad kind of... Nice pictures though. Nice captures. I like the first one best I think.

I too, am glad you threw caution to the wind and brought us these pictures. I've always liked blue and brown together so this is pleasing to the eye for me. Also the swirls in the rust on the hood (3rd pic) add a type of texture that mirrors the swirls in the grain of the wood and complement each other, which I like very much.

Hello, kindred spirit! Must be "Old Truck" week on DPS. Baby blue? I don't remember ever seeing a truck this color and don't think of it as a truck color but, as Mike, pointed out, it is wonderful when seen in combination with the rusty brown. All your different composition are great for showing the cool details like the side mirror. Weird thought: I'd love to have a pair of drumsticks and play rhythms on all the different surfaces to see what she sounds like. Great series.

That truck has really been there a while. Nice shots. Something else I would have never thought of shooting.

I know I was naughty, Dave and my Catholic guilt kept reminding me of that the whole time I was there.

Thanks Leona, I was actually quite amazed that most of the engines on the trucks were still in them. I was wondering if they would start at all.

Fred, there is also an old army truck down there that I got some shots of. Interesting to wonder about how it might have gotten there.

Mike, I was amazed that the wood was still hanging on to the bed of the truck. I was afraid to touch it for fear it would fall apart. Then I would have to feel guilty about breaking it too!

That was a Ford truck and I once had a Ford mustang that exact color. I just can't imagine the miner that went in and ordered a "Baby Blue" truck.

Sheltiesmama, I am finding that the more I shot, the more things I find to shot. This hobby is just feeding on itself and growing. Thanks for taking a peek.
