Default Potential tenant

Judging by the amount of broken egges I found lately I assumed it was the right time to make a nesting shelter for wild birds. It is also a nice family project to carry out during the weekend. For the last couple of weeks the new "appartment" has been empty and bird-clients didn't seem to be interested.
Yesterday evening as I walked out to water the plants I saw this magnificent bird (a white breasted kingfisher, I think) just sitting there. I went back, grabbed the camera and, he was still there waiting for me. Nice birdy!
It checked out one side, It checked out the other side and after a couple of shots it suddenly flew away (while the camera was recovering between shots, of course) showing he awesome blue plumage. We didn't talk about monthly rent and I hope it will be back with its family.

Nice shot Flavio. That bird seems to be establishing itself as king of the castle.

Beautiful bird. I hope he decides to take up residence in your yard. Then we'll get more shots of him.

I know a picture is worth 1000 words but still I belive that another few tens of words won't harm the pictures. I'm glad you mention you enjoy both the text and the images. THANKS!
BTW, 3:30 AM isn't that a bit early? Any particular reason you can share with me?
In this sense: you are my hero!
I struggle with waking up between 6:30 and 6:45 AM.

Great idea flavio. Maybe I'll try that next spring. We're well past the broodng stage here. Nice shots you got of the prospective tenant.
