it was over 90f today, I headed out to the shore to see what I might photograph and got another crack at capturing a Tern ... though I did not get any carrying a fish.. I did manage to catch a few took this on from a loooong way off and in sunlight ... I lost a little color clarity under the range and conditions,
![]() Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/1000) Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 400 mm ISO Speed: 200 Exposure Bias: 0 EV I watched them for a while, but they were just flying back and forth and I never did see them actually fishing.... a little bigger then Swallows, they still fly pretty darn fast, I was glad to have some experiance of shooting fast birds and got a few long distance flight shots.. switching glass and moving to a different area, I got one a little closer ![]() Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 100 mm ISO Speed: 200 Exposure Bias: 0 EV the 70-200m is such a clean and clear lense.. this was handheld and the tern was moving pretty quick .. I also got another chance to capture this Bird ( of which I still do not know the species-sorry ) ..but atleast it's an improvement over the last one ![]() Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/1000) Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 400 mm ISO Speed: 200 much better this time around... really great tree it was in too and I end the day's shoot with a surprize... We've not seen the last of the Osprey yet.. I found these fellows in someone's backyard ..and I decided it was too good to pass up, so I just walked really fast,, got in position .. took the shots and walked off the property .. sometimes ya just gotta do it ! ![]() Exposure: 0.004 sec (1/250) Aperture: f/14.0 Focal Length: 400 mm ISO Speed: 200 Exposure Bias: 0 EV Was a most excellent first day of summer vacation week.. wish it wasn't quite so hot, I wanted to do some hiking, but had to settle with places close to the truck .. thanks for taking a look Vin

Vinam, I was impressed by the tern (left unstoned, I'm sure) and the dark brown or black whatever-it-was. But the three, not one, not two, but three ospreys is just plain showing off!
Very nice. Terns are hard to catch.

I love the ospreys! They're so quirky looking
I would have trespassed to get such a good shot too!
