Default A beach view ......

Driving around the Hutt Valley on Sunday we stopped at the Petone Beach where we could get a good view of Wellington. Petone Beach is where the settlers arrived in Wellington, New Zealand in 1840 and my great-great-great grandfather was one of them arriving with his wife and two children from Scotland.

Calm day in the harbour make kayaking a must

Children playing in the sea - must have been very cold - outside temp was 14 degrees

Hi Bernie - these are beautiful images .. the first thing that caught my attention is how the railing on the dock of the 1st image lines up perfectly with the horizon .. wow ... the rest of your photos are all gorgeous .. it must not be that cold on the beach .. I see that the dad is in short sleeve shirt and some of the children in the water wearing shorts ... beautiful photographed

You really do take some great photographs Bernz. This is another excellent set and in particular I like the panoramic view in the second on and the people on the beach give it great perspective. Great composition in all of them too. This really is super work my friend.

Dave.

Thanks Hayward - Well the sun was out and there was a light breeze so yes younger ones can put up with that. However the water would have been very cold but the kids obviously didn't notice. They were in the water for sometime having fun. Cheers, Bernz

These are all lovely photos of a beautiful summers day. Is'nt it great that summer is so close and people are already starting summer activities. I like the DOF in the first photo.

Beautiful shots Bernz. It is such a lovely beach...walked it on several occasions when staying with a friend in Upper Hutt. To feel the wind blowing through one's hair, filling the lungs with good sea air and taking in the beautiful view at the same time...AWESOME!
