Default Post Apocalyptic Suburbia

Last night it was REALLY windy in Melbourne, Aus, and I thought it would be a great chance to go out and photograph the creepy laneway behind the shops at my local train station.

I thought it had a bit of a shanty town/post apocalyptic feel to it. I love that the pharmacy are advertising their services in a laneway that gets little to no foot traffic... at least, not the desirable kind of foot traffic anyway.

It loses a lot of detail in this size, but you can click through for bigger if you want to.

This is a really beautiful and well taken photo. I love the colors and warmth from the light and the colors in the graffiti and the clouds look so cool! Great shot! Kimi

Oh wow, this is utterly stunning! Glad you've got the wind down there - it's due up here in Qld next week. That is a creepy laneway...

The colours and the street lights give this picture such a fantastic atmosphere. The muted tones give it a bit of a sinister atmosphere. Fantastic work!

Cheers

Thanks for all the comments guys!

To get the muted tones I converted the image to black and white on a new layer, then applied a mask and let the colour back in in varying amounts.

Glad you liked it!

OMG! I looked at the bigger one and thought it was very creepy looking. A really good shot, tho.
