Thanks Leona. I hope you mean the photo though The actual situation, though one we are pretty hardened to here in San Francisco, is pretty sad. I almost delete the photo after I took a chance to get it (I was like 10 feet from this guy and confrontation is not good usually)

Now I am torn about what to do with it. I like the capture but not the content. Does sum up SF pretty well. Even our homeless are high tech.

This is a wonderful shot. As sad as it is, I think one of the most fascinating things about photography is the ability to stop moments of time. Whether they are good or bad moments. Both are valuable documentation of our worlds history and sharing cultures all over the world. This shot certainly shows us a sign of the times and evokes emotions for both the viewer and the photographer. Thanks for sharing.

Nice picture, I think the fact that the image captures him with a mobile device makes the homeless seem more like real actual people to us than usually perceived. I've seen a bit of homeless people with phones/mobile devices here in Boston as well.

Thanks Snap and Josie. Yeah, almost tossed this out feeling bad about it but then for those or similar reasons kept it. Just documenting our city and this is part of it.

Also yeah, I have seen a lot of this really. Those prepaid phones are dirt cheap and no id required to get one etc. One of my coworkers was curious and went to Radio Shack to try it and he got a phone for like $25 with $10 phone credit on it or something like that.. They wanted ID but he pretended that he had his wallet stolen or something or other and said "no id". But they sold him the phone anyway. He has been going back and buying phone credit for that too I think.

Thanks again for checking this out guys.
