I love the open and closed ones ! and also now know what is climbing up the wall outside our back door lol ! wahay I will have to get some if they open up here ... great series Jack and you have educated a gardening numpty here as I had no idea what it was here thank you !

thx FoG.. I looked it up a while back .. also learned some you leave alone, some you prune to the ground in the early spring .. this one's the latter

Thx Hayward, I wait on these every year, as per my post to FoG I cut them hard almost to the ground, the hope being I didn't kill them ..yet to not enjoy 10 years and of how many years prior these were in the ground before we bought this house

Lucky you, I LOVE clematis. I hope to plant some someday. Really pretty shots. I look forward to seeing more as it blooms each day!

You have a good eye for flowers. Thanks for sharing this great set!
I particularly liked the second and the last captures.
Regarding tha last one, I think that it might be a good idea to take two identical shots: one with the proper exposure for the skt and the second for the (dark) flower. Then you could merge (or combine) them and get the best from both worlds. This trick ussually works better than the flash.
