Leona, as a Mother to a United States Marine, currently serving in Iraq, my heart breaks for you. You have lived my deepest and darkest fear. You precious Ben will always be a hero, and will always remain in our hearts.Your and your familys sacrifice will never be forgotten, God Bless.

Thanks so much Angeleyes216 and Allyson...it's good to know people care. Allyson, you are living what I lived before Ben was killed and I feel for you. I pray your son will make it home on his feet, the way they should all return.

Leona, it is hard to express words on this. Your son certainly is a hero, but when your the mother, father, brother, sister of a fallen hero it just doesn't mean too much. I know you would rather have the son than the hero.

Thank you for your words. It's true as you say...we'd rather have our hero here with us.

Wow, what a loss. I have 4 kids and would be rather traumatized to lose any of them but probably more so if their death had been in vain like being killed by a drunk driver. You can take pride in your son's service and also know that all of us here at dps also take pride in our young men who were raised so well by their parents that they would even consider laying their life on the line for the rest of us. It is certainly a testament to you and your husband as well. Those murals are all very creative and honorable. I love them all. Thanks for letting all of us know a little more about you and your son.

Thanks Dan. I appreciate your comments and on the forums today it does my heart good to see that there are those that understand the sacrifices some of us have made.
