Default Graffiti

There's nothing technically outstanding about the photo, or the composition - it's just about the guy's (or gal's?) artwork.

I love graffiti art like this (though not on MY garage wall thank you very much!) as opposed to just 'tagging' which is just untidy. This particular one is on a wall alongside the railway tracks on my way to work. The same thing is on the side of a workmans hut at our station too, but is only about 3 ft behind a chainlink fence, so is impossible to photograph. Sadly, the nature of graffiti is ultimately destructive - I first saw this one about a week ago, and it was alone on an otherwise clear wall - by the time I got to it this morning to take the picture, there have been other 'additions', and it won't be long before others are starting to put their 'tags' over the top of it when they run out of space. Then in about 3 months, CityRail will come along and paint over the whole lot, and the cycle will start again.

Anyone else got any 'arty' graffiti shots ?

I have passed several like this that just make me marvel at how talented some of this kids/young adults are. I hope that walls are not their only canvas.

I wonder if we put up billboards specifcally for this type of art if the artists would utilize them? We could then take down the graffiti and place it elsewhere?

I just find myself wondering how on earth they achieve the results they do.

I really appreciate graffiti art and It saddens me when others will tag over top of it. Nice shot!

Hey Grumby , one of the groups I belong to on Flickr is a Sydney graffitti group who document all the art work around Sydney , ( you may want to check it out ) so have seen some of the most mind blowing pieces of art you can imagine , its a legitimate form of art. Great shot .

Thanks for that Bradzo. This one is at Bexley North, and the original I first saw (and see every morning) is at Riverwood, but is quite faded now. I'll check out the group on Flickr.
