Default Twilight Lily

Twilight Lily by ~Gonzo13 on deviantART

Make: Canon
Model: Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XTi
Shutter Speed: 1/200 second
F Number: F/10.0
Focal Length: 50 mm
ISO Speed: 100

This is a picture of two of the lilies that I bought Jen the other day. I used a slave flash on the lower left facing the background, the flowers were lit with an LED flashlight and I used a Twilight picture style in DPP.

This is excellent Gonzo. The gradient colours in the background match the image so well. This is a lovely piece of work. Well done.

Jake.

Thanks Jake it's always nice getting praise from senior members.

Sheldon a slave flash is a flash that is triggered by the flash on the camera. There are quite a few different types out there, some mount to the camera and sync with it, others don't (like the one used in this picture). I recommend taking your camera with you when you go and shop for them.

Overall I forgot to state that the lilies were originally white.

Really nice shot. I'm curious about the white balance. Auto or custom?

The white balance was set to white fluorescent. The purple color tones are coming from the picture style from Canon called Twilight. Attached is what it looks like with a Landscape picture style. I went back to DPP and started over with it, I haven't had enough coffee yet so I didn't take it through photoshop to take out the leaves on the lower right.

Thanks everyone for the compliments.
